Lynx 5 arm, a-base, a-gripper kit. Mini ssc-ii servo controller. Serial data cable. Robomotion software. Lynx 5 regulated wall pack. About the robot. The lynx 5 robotic arm delivers fast, accurate, and repeatable movement. The robot features base rotation, shoulder, elbow and wrist motion, and a functional gripper. The lynx 5 robotic arm is an affordable system with a time tested rock solid design that will last and last. Everything needed to assemble the robot is included in the kit. New!. The electronics. The pre-assembled mini ssc-ii makes easy work of controlling up to eight servos. The mini ssc-ii receives positioning commands from a pc and provides the control pulses to the servos. The robotic arm is made from ultra-tough laser-cut lexan structural components, black anodized aluminum servo brackets, and custom injection molded components. The arm assembly has ball bearings for improved accuracy. The arm includes five hitec hs-422 servo motors. One for the base, two for the shoulder, and one each for the elbow and wrist. An hs-81 is included for the gripper. Controlling the arm. Rios (robotic arm interactive operating system) is a windows 95, 98, xp program for controlling the l5 and l6 robotic arms with our ssc-32 servo controller. With rios, your robot can be taught sequences of motion via the mouse or joystick. The inverse kinematics engine makes positioning the arm effortless. This extremely powerful program uses external digital and analog inputs to affect the robots motion for closed loop projects. If-then, for-next, and do-while, are supported for the inputs. External outputs can also be controlled. This has been verified to work with an i/ogear usb to serial cable. If stand alone operation is desired, rios/ssc-32 can actually create the basic code to control the arm from our bot board and basic atom or basic stamp 2. Requires the purchase of a programming starter pack listed below. Note, db9 serial data cable is included with l5ac-kt. The software. The dos software is written in quick basic ver 4.5. It allows you to move the arm via the keyboard, save positions to a script file, single step and play the scripts back, save and load the scripts to disk. The source code is included in ascii so you can modify it. The dos software is available on our web site in the files section. The robomotion for windows program allows you to teach the robot from the keyboard or joystick. The arms gripper is positioned in an x, y, z grid in inches, and the moves are stored in a spreadsheet format for easy editing. This software is included in the kit.
